It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform you that Dr. Anton Sebastianpillai – loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, consultant physician, author and historian - passed away on the morning of 4th April 2020, having contracted Covid-19 in the course of carrying out his vocation as a Doctor.
He was the devoted and loving husband of Vasantha Sebastianpillai and the dearest father of Maria and Kevin, and the proud, kind and doting grandfather of Arlo.
He was the third child of the late Dr Gregory Sebastianpillai and Mrs Josephine Sophia Sebastianpillai (both of Jaffna, Sri Lanka) and a much loved brother of Carmal Nagendran, Yohan Sebastianpillai, Gnanan Sebastianpillai, Angela Richards, Sybilla Kumar and Christie Sebastianpillai.
He will be missed dearly by his godchildren, nieces, nephews, family friends and work colleagues.
A life fulfilled through the pursuit of knowledge and understanding of his two great passions: medicine and Sri Lanka. A long shadow has been cast although his legacy remains very much with us through his family and many authored works.
